Death by Defestration (2016) by Koe Bugden – Director
Death by Defenestration explores a domestic family’s dark secrets, set in the family home, but juxtaposed against some of the terrible consequences of Australia’s invasion of Iraq in 2003. Two brothers with deep philosophical differences, and each carrying his own shame, finally finish an argument that has been simmering for ten years.
With music and libretto by Joe Bugden, directed by Lucien Simon and with Phil Joughin and Nick Monk singing the roles of the two brothers, and Josephine Giles as their mother, Death by Defenestration is a thrilling opera noir!
